Advocacy

In the Summer and Fall of 2021, I joined forces with the coaching team at IrisVision to promote the concept of Blind Culture. We collaborated to design a full curriculum that will be distributed to the visually impaired community and their caretakers to establish and promote best practices. We held a webinar to educate the visually impaired, their caregivers, and other stakeholders about best practices for inclusion in the workplace, communication within the home, and promoting safety in the home and in the community. Finally, we discussed how people with visual impairments can advocate for themselves in the community, in health care environments, and in emergency situations.
